I have been teaching for over 35 years to all ranges of students and actively in demand for performing and recording in a wide variety of musical settings. My areas of expertise include: Latin, Jazz, Brazilian, Big Bands, Funk, Rock, Orchestral, and Rudimental Drumline style. I was a snare drummer and teacher for the Santa Clara Vanguard Drum & Bugle Corps, and have a BA degree in Percussion and Jazz Performance from San Jose Sate University. Technique, groove, feel, reading, musicality, are all included in how I teach. My versatility gives my students better insights in the exciting world of drumming.
My drum studio includes these features:
- 2 complete 5-piece drumsets with Latin sounds and accessories.
- A studio sound system that enable the use of play-a-long tracks with headphones using computers, click tracks and drum machines.
- A wide selection of percussion insturments to play on.
